Govt: Aakash tablet will be available for Rs.1900

The reason fort this price drop is explained by telecom Minister Kapil Sibal. Minister Said: ”The capacitative screen is imported at a cost of $22 or around $20. The manufacturing cost is $2. If you were to set up that manufacturing unit in India, the cost will come down automatically from$49 to $29.”
He also Said Production of Aakash tablet in large volume will also lessen down the price. The Government is in process to manufacture 50 lakh units of Aakash tablet in India. the company will start to manufacture tablets in India after Union Cabinet approval.
